Sasikala back to prison, Panneerselvam meets Modi

Deposed AIADMK leader V K Sasikala on Thursday left for Bengaluru by road to report at the Parappana Agrahara Prison in Bengaluru as her parole for visiting her husband in a hospital here ended on Wednesday.

“Sasikala has returned to the prison on Thursday at around 4.30 pm within the stipulated time,” Bengaluru Central Jail Superintendent G Somashekar said.

“There have been no violations by her during the parole period,” he said. Also called the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison, the jail is located in the southern outskirts of the city.

She had visited her husband M Natarajan, who underwent liver and kidney transplantation at the hospital, on all five days of her parole period.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu deputy chief Minister O Panneerselvam on Thursday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, triggering speculation of differences between him and chief minister K Palaniswamy, but he asserted that they were working unitedly.

"There are no hard feelings in me. And there will be no hard feelings because of me. It has been an unconditional merger at the end of the 'dharma yudham'," he said.

"The functiniong of the government is good and brilliant. The chief minister is consulting me and all other ministers before taking decisions," he added.
