Asin and husband Rahul Sharma have been blessed with a baby girl, the couple's first child, on Tuesday.
The Pokkiri and Varalaru actress wrote on Instagram: "We are ecstatic to announce the arrival of our angelic baby girl earlier today."
She added: "The last nine months have been most special and exciting for the both of us and we would like to thank all our wellwishers and everyone who has been part of our journey for all their love and support."
Asin and Rahul, who is the founder of Micromax, got married in a colourful wedding ceremony on January 19th, 2016 in Delhi.
Post her marriage, Asin quit her flourishing acting career. The actress was last seen in 2015 comedy, All Is Well, co-starring Abhishek Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor and Supriya Pathak.
Asin began her acting career in the South Indian film industry, but now appears predominantly in Bollywood films.
She is the only Malayali actress, other than Padmini, to have dubbed in her own voice for all her films, irrespective of language.
