Fresh goof-up by Minister Dindigul Srinivasan, refers Manmohan Singh as PM

Dindigul Srinivasan, the Minister for Forests, said Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam travelled to New Delhi to meet Prime Minister "Manmohan Singh."

His blooper came at an event in Dindigul, a town in Tamil Nadu located around 430 km southwest of Chennai.

The minister said a central team of doctors came from New Delhi to suggest measures to control dengue only after deputy chief minister O Pannerselvam met “Prime Minister Manmohan Singh”.

This is the English translation of his speech: "As soon as dengue hit the state, honourable chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, without insisting that he would visit the capital since he is the CM, sent deputy chief minister and former CM Panneerselvam to Delhi, made him meet honourable Manmohan Singh, and highlighted the issue."

"It was requested (to Singh) to send AIIMS doctors' team to Tamil Nadu to control mosquitoes and check the spread of dengue. Accordingly, the experts team visited the state for five days along with Tamil Nadu health minister Vijayabaskar."

Panneerselvam did meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 12. AIADMK members said it was a "courtesy call."
