After reports claimed that his office was raided by GST intelligence wing, Vishal has said he is ready to face any raid and he is honest.
Meanwhile, reports claimed that he has been summoned by the income tax department for not paying tax properly.
It was first said that the Goods and Services Tax intelligence wing on Monday raided the office of Vishal's film production company -- Vishal Film Factory -- in Chennai following information that he had allegedly evaded service tax to the tune of several lakhs of rupees.
However, Directorate General of Goods and Service Tax Intelligence (DGGSTI) on Monday denied that it raided the premises of top Tamil actor Vishal's film production house.
"It is to clarify that the officers of DGGSTI have not conducted any such search operations and the news which is being circulated is factually incorrect and false," Joint Director of DGGSTI P V K Rajasekhar said in a release in Chennai.
Later, it was claimed that the Income Tax department's TDS (tax deducted at source) wing on Monday searched actor Vishal's production office at Vadapalani in Chennai for "not remitting" Rs 51 lakh collected as TDS and not depositing into the government account.
