Ahead of the grand audio launch today, the main cast and crew of 2.0, including director Shankar, superstar Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson, Oscar-winner AR Rahman, producer Subaskaran held a press conference in Dubai on Thursday.
Rajinikanth is confident that his mega-budget sci-fi thriller 2.0 will be the most prestigious Indian film ever.
"It will appeal to both the global and Indian audiences. Director Shankar has a nice social message for everyone in the film," Rajinikanth, told the media.
The Thalaivar was asked the reason behind his simplicity and he replied to it with his trademark modesty. “Nobody pays me to act in my real life, so I’m simple,” he said to loud cheers from the members present at the press meet.
Shankar said he had sought the dates of Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger to essay the main-antagonist character in his upcoming film 2.0.
Eventually, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar came on-board to play the onscreen nemesis of Chitti, which is played by superstar Rajinikanth.
As part of promotions, the Burj Khalifa, which is the world's tallest building, was decorated with 2.0 stills featuring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar.
2.0 will be the first Indian film to host a grand audio launch at Burj Park in Dubai. According to reports, close to 12,000 free passes were given to the audience. The Dubai government has given permission for the event.
