OPS attacks, Dinakaran reacts

In its first public protest, the O Panneerselvam-led AIADMK faction on Wednesday observed a day-long fast across Tamil Nadu demanding a probe into the death of J Jayalalithaa.

Panneerselvam personally led the fast near Rajarathinam Stadium at Egmore in the city, in which a large number of his supporters, attended it.

Winding up the protest, which saw the participation of hundreds of supporters here and in the district headquarters, Panneerselvam said he was ready to face any probe into the "suspicious" circumstances surrounding the death of Jayalalithaa.

"To retrieve our party from the clutches of V K Sasikala, to get back our government from the hold of her family, our dharma yudh will continue. We are ready to make sacrificies for it," Panneerselvam, said.

AIADMK Deputy General Secretary TTV Dinakaran on Wednesday said DMK Working President M K Stalin was attacking his party to "conceal his inabilities" after he failed to "topple" the government.

In an apparent reference to Panneerselvam, he said Stalin had joined hands with a "traitor" to "topple" AIADMK government but it could not fructify due to a "silent revolution" by the ruling party.

The OPS camp had been demanding a probe by a sitting Judge of the Supreme Court to clear the doubts that had arisen in the minds of the people over the death of Jayalalhhtaa.
