The team led by Vishal is meeting members of Tamil Film Producers Council in various places and seeking support in elections.
Speaking at Coimbatore, Vishal said, "Our team has decided to contest in the upcoming TFPC elections only to save film industry."
He said further: "A lot of issues are there in Kollywood, nothing has happened in the last ten years. A few films have been facing release issues and those producers couldn’t get enough theaters."
"To overcome these shortcomings, producers should be united. We are 100% confident and will definitely win the election”, he added.
He also said his team will be soon meeting Kamal Haasan to seek his support and lauded the Vishwaroopam actor for his bold statements on the current political happenings.
Recently, it may be recalled director Cheran has penned a hard hitting seven-page letter in Tamil to actor Vishal against his contesting in the Producer's Council election.
“Dear Vishal, what happened to you? You were doing good in the beginning, but what happened now? Do you have any idea about what you’re talking?" he said.
