DMK protests at ration shops across TN condemning erratic supply

The main opposition DMK is today staging agitations in front of the fair price shops in the state demanding distribution of essential commodities to the consumers.

In a statement, DMK working president M K Stalin accused the state government of turning a blind eye to the public distribution system (PDS). At many ration shops, people were not getting even 20kg of free rice, he said.

Meanwhile, Stalin on Sunday appealed to Opposition parties, including the People's Welfare Front, to support its candidate in the April 12 by election to RK Nagar assembly constituency to "teach a lesson" to the "proxy" regime of AIADMK chief VK Sasikala.

The constituency was represented by J Jayalalithaa. "RK Nagar bypoll (outcome) should protect democracy in Tamil Nadu and teach a lesson to the proxy regime of AIADMK chief V K Sasikala who is in a Bengaluru prison," he said.

Speaking at a public meeting in his constituency, Kolathur, Stalin attacked the ruling AIADMK saying, “The party which is leading the government does not have any stability and does not know what they are doing.”

He also added that the people of the state were unhappy with the state government.
