Rajini's 2.0 TV rights sold for Rs 110 crore

The latest big buzz in the industry is that the satellite rights of Superstar Rajinikanth's 2.0 have been sold for a whopping Rs 110 crore.

According to sources, a leading television company, which has channels in all leading Indian languages, has bought the movie for this rate.

Made at a massive budget of 350 crore, the makers are excited to recover one third of the investment through satellite rights.

The film is being directed by Shankar and music is by A R Rahman. Produced by Lyca, the film is slated to release on Deepavali in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.

A sequel to 2010 Tamil blockbuster, 2.0 features Rajinikanth in dual roles — a scientist and a robot.

Also starring Akshay Kumar as the antagonist, apart from Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain, the film has been bankrolled by Lyca Productions on a budget of Rs 450 crore.

The film will feature Rajinikanth reprising the roles of Dr Vaseegaran and Chitti, alongside Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson. The film will have a simultaneous release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
