Eminent music composer Gangai Amaran, who is the BJP's candidate in the prestigious RK Nagar bypoll, called on superstar Rajinikanth on Tuesday sparking some speculation in Tamil Nadu's political circles.
The meeting with Rajini is all the more special as Gangai Amaran is the Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate for the Tamil Nadu Assembly constituency seat left vacant after the death of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.
And that's precisely what Gangai Amaran, the Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate for the R.K. Nagar by-poll and the brother of the legendary composer Ilayaraja, said happened today.
Filmmaker Venkat Prabhu, who is Gangai Amaran’s son tweeted a picture of Rajini with the music composer and said that the star had wished his father “for his political victory”.
Ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi visited Rajinikanth at his residence in Chennai. The photo opportunity with the superstar was an attempt to boost the BJP’s performance in Tamil Nadu ahead of the polls.
Gangai Amaran, brother of ace music director Ilay Raja, has composed hit numbers for many Tamil films, and political observers here are more inclined to believe Rajini meeting him was more due to non-political.
