AIADMK fields Dinakaran, DMK Marudhuganesh in R K Nagar

T T V Dinakaran, the AIADMK Deputy General Secretary and the nephew of V K Sasikala, was today nominated as the party's candidate for the RK Nagar bypoll scheduled for April 12.

A few minutes after the AIADMK announced party deputy general secretary T T V Dinakaran as its candidate in R K Nagar, DMK general secretary K Anbazhagan released a statement announcing Marudhu Ganesh as the candidate.

Speaking to reporters, Dinakaran expressed confidence that he would win the seat with a margin of over 50,000 votes. He is the nephew of jailed party leader Sasikala. He would file his nomination papers on March 23.

Dinakaran said he would contest under 'Two Leaves' symbol in the Assembly constituency and he did not have any intention to become the chief minister.

Though other names were going around for the past few days, the DMK has for a change announced a local party functionary.
