Amid reports which claimed that Superstar Rajinikanth has called for a meeting of office-bearers of his fan clubs to discuss 'crucial issues', it has emerged that he might start a service organisation soon.
A report in a Tamil investigative bi-weekly said prime minister Narendra Modi would attend the inauguration of the organisation.
Though Rajini's publicist has refuted reports about the proposed meeting with fan clubs office-bearers on April 2, reports said fans of Rajinikanth will meet on April 2 in Chennai for a consultative meet in which they are hoping for the superstar’s participation.
A meeting of the Rajinikanth Fans Association has been convened for “consultations,” a senior functionary was quoted as saying by a news agency.
The sudden announcement about the meeting has trigerred speculation on whether the actor will be once again pursuaded to take the political plunge, a demand which he has been resisting.
The meeting has gained significance, as it has come at a time when Rajini was stopped from going to Sri Lanka following requests made by MDMK chief Vaiko, VCK leader Thol Thirumavalan and Tamizhaga Vaazhvurimai Katchi chief T Velmurugan.
There is no clear information on the agenda of the meeting, though there are rumours that Rajini may discuss politics with his fans. It is to be noted that he had already announced that he does not support any political party in the RK Nagar by-election.
