Shankar almost done with 2.0

Director Shankar and his team are a happy lot, as they have almost completed their magnum opus 2.0, which has Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role.

"With my team after finishing a major scene of #2.0 . One song and some patch works are only the balance," the director posted on his online page.

Talkie portions have already been completed and the pending song is likely to be shot in a huge set in Chennai, said sources.

A sequel to 2010 Tamil blockbuster, 2.0 features Rajinikanth in dual roles — a scientist and a robot.

Also starring Akshay Kumar as the antagonist, apart from Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain, the film has been bankrolled by Lyca Productions on a budget of Rs 450 crore.

The film will feature Rajinikanth reprising the roles of Dr Vaseegaran and Chitti, alongside Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson. The film will have a simultaneous release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
