Dhinakaran confirms Sasikala's parole, Hospital says Natarajan critical

V K Sasikala, who is currently in Bengaluru prison following her conviction in a disproportionate assets case, is likely to come out today on parole to visit her ailing husband M Natarajan.

She has applied for parole and might come out on Tuesday, her nephew and expelled AIADMK leader TTV Dhinakaran told reporters in Chennai.

Meanwhile, a latest press release from Gleneagles Global Health City says Natarajan's condition continues to be critical.

The 74-year-old Natarajan, considered the brain behind Sasikala’s stranglehold on late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, was admitted to the Gleneagles Global Health City on the outskirts of Chennai following liver and kidney failure in addition to lung congestion.

Natarajan has a history of chronic liver disease. “He has been registered with the Tamil Nadu Organ Sharing (TNOS) waiting list for deceased donor liver transplantation. Currently, he is admitted at the Liver Intensive Care Unit with decompensated liver disease leading to liver failure, kidney failure and lung congestion,” a hospital spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, Dhinakaran was on Monday booked and 10 of his supporters were held in connection with distribution of pamphlets allegedly containing defamatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami in Salem.
