Eicher Polaris Pvt Ltd launched personal utility vehicle Multix

Eicher Polaris Pvt Ltd. (EPPL) is a 50:50 joint venture between Eicher Motors Ltd – expert in building strong brands and masters in lean engineering & Polaris Industries Inc., world leaders in off road personal vehicles and having commanding expertise in creating new categories. The JV was signed in July 2012 with an aim of creating an innovative solution that works for Indian markets.

Eicher Polaris Pvt Ltd launched India’s first personal utility vehicle Multix in June 2015 at their plant in Kukas, Jaipur addressing a need gap in the market and to build a new consumer segment in the Indian automobile industry. The target consumers and the market for Multix are unique and need to be developed over time. In its first year of launch, Multix was present in 30 markets in August 2015 and now present in 13 states and over 70 markets. The company plans to expand its dealership network to 150 plus markets by Q3 of 2017. The BS IV compliant Multix variants will be rolled out from March 2017.

It is a 3-in-1 personal utility vehicle catering to business, family and power generation needs of an independent businessman residing in Tier II and Tier III towns. Multix is available in two variants, AX+ and MX priced at INR 3.19 lakh and INR 3.49 lakh respectively (all prices pan India) and four colors. Multix has a generous cabin space that can comfortably seat a family of five along with luggage. Multix can be adapted to create large storage space of 1918 liters. In just 3-minutes, the vehicle can be configured for seating a family to larger boot space in order to cater to the business needs of the consumer.

Multix has specially designed Pro Ride™ – Independent suspension system which coupled with 225 mm of ground clearance providing unmatched comfortable all road ride. It has 600+ cc for BSIV reliable diesel engines, which delivers a mileage of 28.45 kmpl. Its Flexituff™ body delivers superior energy efficiency and durability. It has generous cabin space that can comfortably seat a family of five along with the luggage or can be adapted to create a large storage space of 1918 liters.

With its most unique feature of power-take-off - X-PORT ™, Multix can generate power up to 3 KW and unlocks the potential of independent businessmen, as it can be used for lighting homes and powering professional equipment such as drilling machines, DJ systems, water pumps and more.

In its endeavor to serve its prospective consumers better, Eicher Polaris Pvt Ltd has strategic tie-ups with multiple financial institutions and banks like HDFC, IndusInd, Shriram Finance, Cholamandalam, Bank of India, Punjab and Sind bank to extend auto retail finance options up to 90% of the vehicle’s price.
