AIADMK leader V K Sasikala, who was granted emergency leave by the Karnataka prisons department on Friday to meet her ailing husband N Natarajan, arrived in Chennai around 8:30 pm.
Sasikala travelled to Chennai from the Bangaluru prison by road. Sasikala had sought parole for 15 days, but she has been granted for five days, jail authorities said.
After her first application was rejected on "technical grounds" on October three for not producing certain requisite documents, Sasikala had filed a fresh plea for parole.
The parole was on strict conditions that she cannot visit anywhere other than her husband's hospital or her house in Chennai.
She is restricted from involving herself in any kind of political activity including talking with her party workers or holding public meeting . Though she is allowed to speak to her relatives, she is refrained from speaking anything to the media.
She would stay in the house of her relative Krishnapriya in T Nagar. Krishnapriya is the daughter of J Ilavarasi who is lodged in the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in Bengaluru with Sasikala and Sasikala and Sasikala's relative VN Sudhakaran.
