Non-bailable warrant issued against Jai for drunk driving

A metropolitan magistrate court in Saidapet on Thursday issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against actor Jai for failing to appear before the court in connection with a drunken driving case in Adyar.



The actor was supposed to appear before the 4th metropolitan magistrate in the Saidapet courts on Thursday. However, he failed to appear.



Following this, the senior civil judge, L Abraham Lincoln issued a non bailable warrant against the actor. The next hearing is slated for Friday.



Police suggested cancelling his driving license, it may be recalled. On September 21, Jai was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. The actor rammed his car on the Adyar Flyover and was later released on bail.



Jai was said to be driving the car and rammed the divider on the Adyar flyover at around 2:30 AM. Jai was arrested by the police and booked under sections 185 (driving by a drunken person or by a person under the influence of drugs) of the Motor Vehicles Act and 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) of the Indian Penal Code. He was later let out on bail.



Jai along with comedy actor Premgi Amaran and a few more actors, after a party (incidentally his next film with the same group is titled Party) at a star hotel in Chennai and later while driving back his Audi Car to his residence in Indra Nagar, Jai rammed the divider on Adyar flyover.
