Ram Gopal Varma to make biopic on Sasikala?

Controversial director Ram Gopal Varma has registered his new film title ‘Sashikala’.

"Just registered my new film title "Shashikala"  it's the story of a very dearest closest friend of a politician and completely fictional", RGV posted on his microblogging page.

He also tweeted "Shashikala is going to be a very very sincere from the heart Tamilan love story and absolutely nothing to with fictional non politics."

He went on to add: "Jayalalitha ji respected Shasikala ji much more than she respected anybody else proves why I should call my film “Shasikala”."

Ram Gopal Varma is an Indian film director, screenwriter and producer, known for his works in Telugu cinema and Bollywood.

He directed films across multiple genres, including parallel cinema and docudrama noted for their gritty realism, technical finesse, and craft.

In 1999, he has garnered the National Film Award for scripting, political drama, Shool - "For unveiling the complete collapse of the socio-political system. A very effective portrayal of the determined fight of a single citizen in the centre of a facade of democracy", as cited by the Jury.
