597 died of gried after Jaya's death: AIADMK

Te ruling AIADMK said today that 'unable to bear' the demise of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, 597 people have died so far in Tamil Nadu.

The party released the latest list of 127 such deceased persons today, taking the total number to 597, and announced Rs three lakh each as solatium to their family.

Till December 11, the party had announced solatium to families of 470 people, who died on hearing the death of Jayalalithaa.

The party first announced assistance to the families of 280 people, who died on hearing Ms Jayalalithaa's demise, and later announced assistance of Rs three lakh each to 190 more people, taking the total number of deaths to 470.

They died as they were "unable to bear" the death of Jayalalithaa, who passed away on December 5 here, an AIADMK release said.

The bereaved families hail from various parts of the state including Chennai, Tirunelveli, Dindigul, Madurai and Ramanathapuram districts.
