Kollywood offers full support to Jallikattu

This morning, Raghava Lawrence met pro-Jallikattu protesters at Marina and offered his complete support. Already, R Parthiepan and T Rajenthar did the same.

In a statement, Vikram said, "I strongly believe and wish that Jallikattu, the traditional sport of Tamils should be held."

He added: "My heartfelt support for the protest of Tamil people, especially to our youngsters and students. I’m sure the protest will become a huge success."

Superstar Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Vijay, Suriya, Sivakarthikeyan, Dhanush and others have already offered their support, it is to be noted.

In a video statement on Tuesday night, Vijay said PETA should be sent out of the country and those arrested for Jallikattu should be released.

In his statement, Suriya said it is paradoxical to see those aiding extinction of native breeds talk about cruelty to animals in the bull-taming sport.

He said such voluntary protests will always be genuine and charged People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) with carrying out a campaign of lies that Jallikattu is inimical to bulls.

"The group called PETA which won in the court of law by carrying out a campaign of lies that Jallikattu was inimical to bulls has lost in the people's court."
