Kaala single on May 1

The first single of superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming flick, Kaala will be released on May 1, the film's producer Dhanush said today.

Dhanush tweeted: "A surprise to Superstar fans. #kaala 1st single #semmaweightu will be released tom(orrow) evening at 7 pm."

The much awaited audio of the movie, composed by Santhosh Narayanan, will be released on May 9.

Dhanush posted on Twitter: "Wunderbar films presents, Superstar’s #kaalaa audio will release on #may9th ... get ready to celebrate thalaivars swag with Santosh narayanan’s stylish music."

Dhanush also revealed that audio of Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions will be out on the same day. After Kabali, Kaala is music composer Santhosh Narayanan's second album with Superstar Rajinikanth.

Both films are directed by Ranjith of Madras fame. Kaala is slated to hit the screens on June 7.

The film has an ensemble of artists like Huma Qureshi, Sampath, Nana Patekar and Samuthirakani in important roles. Touted to be a film on politics, Nana Patekar plays a politician and Rajinikanth seems to be playing the saviour of the masses.

HC denies bail to lawyer in doctor murder case

The Madras High Court has turned down the bail granted to a lawyer, accused in the murder of a Chennai-based neuro surgeon over a property dispute in 2013. However, the court directed the police not to arrest him till 6

pm on May 15.

Justice RMT Teekaa Raman cancelled the bail granted to Williams, When the criminal original petition filed by the city police came up for hearing.

On September 14, 2013, Dr Subbiah was attacked by a gang near his work place at Raja Annamalai Puram, apparently due to a dispute over a 2.4-acre plot of land at Anjugramam near Kanyakumari.

Nine days later, the doctor succumbed to his injuries. The entire sequence of him being accosted by the gang and being hacked was captured by a CCTV installed in a nearby apartment.

According to reports, advocate Basil and his senior, Williams, attached to the Madurai Bench of the High court, approached the latter’s friend James Sathish Kumar (37), a physician of ESIC hospital, Tirunelveli.

Basil and his family allegedly wanted their relative Subbiah dead owing to a dispute over property worth over Rs. 12 crore in Anjugramam, Kanyakumari.

The latest buzz is that Vijay TV has acquired the satellite rights of superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming film Kaala. According to sources, the rights have been acquired from Dhanush's Wunderbar Pictures for a whopping price.

Telangana CM meets Stalin, Karunanidhi; discusses federal front

Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, on a mission to form a non-BJP non-Congress alternative, on Sunday met DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi and its working president M K Stalin in Chennai.

Soon after landing in Chennai, Rao drove down to the Gopalapuram residence of Karunanidhi and enquired about his health condition.

He was received at the residence by Stalin, who presented him a shawl. Former Union Ministers T R Baalu and A Raja were present when the meeting took place.

Rao described the meeting as "very delightful". He said his ongoing effort was not aimed at some kind of a "third front".

It was not a mere alignment of political parties but "that of the people" of the country", the Telangana Rashtra Samithi supremo told reporters in a joint press meet with

Stalin.

Stalin said he had healthy discussions with Rao

and the view points expressed by him would be discussed with like minded parties and also at the DMK's various forums, including the Executive and the General Council meetings.

I hate Ajith, like vijay: Vishal

"One thing I don’t like about Ajith is his inaccessible nature. I even tried to reach Ajith through his PRO Suresh Chandra to discuss something but he was unavailable," Vishal has said.

In an interview to Ananda Vikatan, he said, "I like Vijay, there is no negative quality in him. Vijay has come up in life by facing a lot of harsh criticisms and today he is a successful star in Tamil cinema."

He added: "Had any other actor faced such negative criticism, they would have run away from the industry.I like Vijay a lot and maybe, that is one thing I hate about him."

Heaping more laurels on 'Thalapathy', he said, "I like his calm nature; his silence speaks a thousand words. I like his dedication and hard work."

The president of Tamil Film Producers Council and general secretary of Nadigar Sangam said he hates Radha Ravi’s usage of words (unparliamentary language).

Meanwhile, Vishal's Irumbuthirai is all set to release on May 11. It is a science fiction thriller film directed by P S Mithran.

The movie features Vishal, Arjun and Samantha Akkineni in the lead roles, with Yuvan Shankar Raja scoring the music.

CJ denies charges, says verdict in 11 MLAs case given as per conscience

Madras High Court Chief Justice Indira Banerjee today said, "We have passed the judgement based on our conscience and we are answerable only to God. But, everyone has the right to comment on verdicts passed by the court."

She this while responding to calls to take up a contempt of court case against disqualified MLA and TTV Dhinakaran supporter Thanga Tamilselvan who had criticised the High Court judgement yesterday turning down a batch of petitions, filed by the DMK and other parties seeking to disqualify 11 MLAs including Deputy Chief Minister, O Panneerselvam.

Meanwhile today, G Devarajan, an advocate clerk, was removed from the court hall after he created a ruckus by impressing upon Chief Justice Indira Banerjee to deliver the verdict on petitions filed against the disqualification of 18 AIADMK MLAs owing allegiance to sidelined leader TTV Dhinakaran.

Banerjee questioned his locus standi pointing out that his impleading petition in that matter had been disallowed by the court.

Later, she said the verdict in the case would be delivered soon.

She said the verdict on a plea seeking disqualification of 11 MLAs, including Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, was given as per conscience.
