Kaatru Veliyidai opens big

Love is in the air, along with Mani Ratnam and A R Rahman. Yes, the legendary duo's latest offering Kaatru Veliyidai has hit the screens today.

According to sources, the response from the audience is good and the number of viewers is expected to touch a high Saturday and Sunday, courtesy weekend.

The advance bookings of Kaatru Veliyidai in 3 C’s (Chennai City, Chengalpattu, and Coimbatore) have been phenomenal that tickets are selling like hot cakes.

Another major advantage for Kaatru Veliyidai is that the film has got tax exemption from Tamil Nadu government and thus, theater owners are allotting more shows.

It is a romantic thriller film produced, written and directed by Mani Ratnam. Featuring Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead roles, the film has music composed by A. R. Rahman and cinematography by Ravi Varman.

Principal photography of the film commenced on 8 July 2016 in Ooty. The film was shot in Hyderabad, Leh, Ladakh, Chennai and Belgrade, and was completed in January 2017.
